Can Nissan sell dealers on digital sales tool?

A new tool for Automotive News Data Center subscribers

A new tool for mining Experian’s registration data is available for subscribers to the Automotive News Research & Data Center.

Full-access data center subscribers can now use Experian’s Velocity platform to create custom queries and charts using the company’s new- and used-vehicle registration data from across the U.S., as well as Experian loyalty and vehicles in operation data.

Using Experian Velocity, subscribers can create custom views of vehicle registrations by make, model, class, drivetrain and fuel type, including electric vehicles and hybrids. They can also explore Experian’s analysis of conquest and defection rates.

Only use an OEM scan tool? No, say three groups

In response to recent industry commentary that automotive repair and service shops should only use original equipment manufacturing scan tools, three prominent industry groups put out a joint memo against the position.

The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI), Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), and Auto Care Association issued a position paper last week that all three are unified in their stance that OEM and multi-brand tools should be available to shops and that they should be free to choose the tool they feel will work best.

asTech announces patent for system to determine if aftermarket scan tool OK
