Microlino shows off production version of tiny electric car and cute scooter

Micro took to the IAA Mobility trade show in Munich, Germany, to publicly reveal the series-production version of the company’s Microlino 2.0 electric mini-car.

Considered a quadricycle in Europe, the Microlino 2.0 takes on a similar design to the BMW Isetta.

The four-wheeled electric vehicle lacks side doors and instead has a single large front door that allows occupants to enter directly from the front of the car. A number of color options offer either a two-tone retro charm or a more modern aesthetic.

First VW ID.4 electric car made at Chattanooga; mass production starts in 2022

The first Volkswagen ID.4 electric car has rolled off the production line at the automaker’s Chattanooga, Tennessee, factory, VW Group of America CEO Scott Keogh announced Thursday in a LinkedIn post. Mass production doesn’t start until next year, however.

Finished in Glacier White Metallic, the first completed car is a validation build used to test out the assembly process and all related components. This is standard procedure for automakers ramping up production of a new model. Validation builds are not sold to the public, and are generally scrapped once they’ve served their purpose.
