Volvo invests in Israeli developer of testing platform for autonomous vehicles

Multinational automaker Volvo was among a group of investors that backed Israeli mobility tech startup Foretellix, a developer of a testing and verification platform for driver assistance and autonomous driving systems, according to an announcement Wednesday.

The $32 million Series B funding for Foretellix was led by Israeli venture capital company MoreTech Ventures, with participation from strategic investors including Volvo’s VC arm, Volvo Group Venture Capital, and Japan-Israel High Tech Ventures, a venture fund operated by Singapore-based asset management firm Chartered Group. Aurora makes autonomous Safety Case Framework public

Autonomous driving developer Aurora has released details of the Safety Case Framework it has developed, which it says can be applied to both autonomous trucks and passenger vehicles.

The company uses the safety case-based approach to evaluate when its vehicles are safe enough to operate on public roads, and to assess that they are not creating an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety.
